Did They Say That? Albert Einstein and Compound Interest
January 27, 2009
“The most powerful force in the universe is compound interest.”
Albert Einstein
Arguably the most intelligent person to ever live (even though he didn’t speak fluently until age nine) said that the most powerful force in the universe is compound interest. Of course, he was wrong. God is, but it still illustrates a point. Compound interest is a powerful force that can work for you or against you. Compound interest can help you create wealth with investments or help destroy it through high interest credit cards. Learn about compound interest and it could change your life! And it doesn’t hurt to know the actual most powerful force in the universe, either!
Verse of the Day: Bread to Eat
January 25, 2009
10 For God is the one who provides seed for the farmer and then bread to eat. In the same way, he will provide and increase your resources and then produce a great harvest of generosity in you.
2 Corinthians 9:10 (NLT)
From the Life Application Bible:
God gives us resources to use and invest for him. Paul uses the illustration of seed to explain that the resources God gives us are not to be hidden, foolishly devoured, or thrown away. Instead, they should be cultivated in order to produce more crops. When we invest what God has given us in his work, he will provide us with even more to give in his service.

Did They Say That? Martin Luther King, Jr.
January 19, 2009
In celebration of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day today, I’m doing a “Did They Say That” post with a quote from Dr. Martin Luther King himself.
“Faith is taking the first step, even when you don’t see the whole staircase.”
Martin Luther King, Jr.
The third Monday of every January is Martin Luther King, Jr. Day and is celebrated around his birthday of January 15. It is only one of three federal holidays to commemorate an individual person (the others being George Washington and Christopher Columbus).
Martin Luther King, Jr. was an amazing person and a history-maker who stood for his beliefs in spite of what society, law, or people said at the time. He fought for racial equality, and his legacy lives on today. But we are not done yet. Racial inequality stills exists today even in this country. Not only that, even slavery still exists in parts of the world. Our work on this earth is definitely not done.
Free FICO Credit Score Revisited!
January 19, 2009
Earlier this month, I blogged about getting your free FICO score from MyFICO through their Score Watch trial. Well, now you don’t have to sign up for anything to get your free Equifax FICO score! Just visit this website and register. No credit card required and the website is run by MyFICO and Equifax. But hurry, this is only open to the first 10,000 people! Here’s my FICO score:
I’m happy with my 738 credit score. Obviously, there’s always room for improvement. And it still beats Warren Buffet’s! My goal is to get to at least 760 by this year by paying off all of my debt (which will improve my debt-to-credit ratio) as well as continuing to pay my bills on time. I’m still on schedule to pay off everything and be completely debt-free by September! I’m excited!

Did They Say That? Money is Attracted
January 13, 2009
“Money is usually attracted, not pursued.”
Jim Rohn
Isn’t that what the Bible says? Seek the Kingdom of God first and all these things will be added to you. Where are your priorities?
